Sanlam Life
Customer:
Sanlam Life. One of South Africa's top insurance companies, the Sanlam Group is one of the longest-established financial services groups in the country. It demutualised in 1998 and is now listed on the JSE Securities Exchange and the Namibian Stock Exchange.

Background:
Sanlam Life constantly communicates with a vast network of between 4 000 and 10 000 brokers and 3 000 marketers by email and internal branch networks, informing them of lapsed policies, claims, renewals and marketing updates.

Problem identified by the customer:
Increased competition and demands for faster and better customer communications promoted a need to speed up the time it took to get information to this network while keeping costs to a minimum. Approximately 15 000 SMS notes are sent each month.

iTouch products used:
Email SMS.

Benefits to the customer:
The dissemination of information to brokers and marketers has been dramatically improved, giving them more time for effective communication with their clients.

Problem solved :
In the two years Sanlam Life has used iTouch's Email SMS it has proved to be an indispensable tool for getting messages to the network in the quickest possible time. It supplements the more formal email and internal mail system by alerting recipients that new mail needs prompt attention.
